Valuable Features Included

Our Intuitive Content Management System includes many built-in features, making our websites exceptional value.

Multi-Function Pen KnifeThe use of tried and tested I-CMS software and modules as the foundation of your website provides a sound basis of administration and editing for the site, which ensures its reliability and reduces the expense of development work in comparison with the functionality attained.

Modules to Enhance Efficiency & Functionality

Certain types of content on your website are best handled using one of our dedicated database modules.

These ensure that various aspects of the content (e.g. title, description, date, etc) are consistent for each entry.

The modules allow the information to be searched and presented in a variety of ways, and aspects of the data can be fed to a panel in your website template or to other external websites.

Some of our most popular modules are described below:

Line

Contacts Directory

Examples - Peak Directions, 3D, SEDD

A search facility to find the contact details of relevant organisations.

Typically this holds the name, address, phone number, email address, website link, area of operation, type of organisation, categorisation by activities and services, brief and full descriptions, details of main contact person, and other data fields as required.

The directory data is searchable on the website by keywords, categories, geographic area, or any other desired parameters.

Linked to the Directory, a secondary searchable database can be used to hold details of services provided by each organisation in the directory.

The Directory module can be set to allow organisations to self register and enter or update their own data.

Line

Documents Store

Examples - NDWA, Peak Directions, VAO

A place to upload files, and to list and search them.

The store displays documents by title, publication date and file type, listed under category headings. The viewer may constrain this list by searching for keywords in the title and selecting drop-down category types and dates. An item can be expanded to show the full details for the document, or viewed by clicking the title.

Registered updaters are able to select document files by browsing their local PC and upload them, together with descriptive information.

Line

News

Examples - Threshold, Peak Directions, VAO

A simple way of entering a news item as a title, some text, and optional images or links.

The current news items are listed on the News page and can be set to automatically archive after a given date. Past news items can be viewed and searched by keyword, category, date, area, etc.

News titles can be delivered to a panel in the template or on the home page, linked back to the News page items. Individual news items can be copied with a single click to a ‘scrapbook’ web page, so that a newsletter can easily be constructed, and emailed to a subscription list after automatic formatting.

Line

Events

Examples - Peak Directions

A diary of events by date, time, title, description and venue.

This listing can be searched by keywords (What), date (When) and location (Where). Events automatically archive once completed. A list of the next few events can be delivered to the website template or home page.

Line

Links

Examples - Peak Directions, Kinder Trespass, Glossop VC

A useful well-presented list of searchable links to related websites.

Often the links page on a website is something of an afterthought – a simple list of a few relevant sites. However, this module makes it into a more useful resource. The links are displayed as a linked title with a brief description and a logo or related graphic alongside. The listing can be by category groupings or as the results from a search by keywords.

Line

A to Z

Examples - SEDD, Green Your World,

Allows an information file to be created and presented alphabetically by title or using category headings.

The information under each heading can have the full formatting capabilities available on the CMS web pages. This database can be used as a FAQs or Glossary, and items from the list can then be used to provide an explanation for words or phrases in the content of the main website pages.
